One of the best cakes I’ve had recently was a strawberry filling vanilla wheat cake. It was homemade with a whole wheat cake, vanilla frosting from a can, and homemade strawberry filling. The only thing that could have made it better was some homemade frosting too. Wheat cake is pretty rare because the vast majority of cakes you buy have bleached enriched flour with pretty much no nutritional value, but the wheat flour still has some nutrients left due to being unprocessed.
The strawberry filling is super easy to make and extremely tasty. All you do is take some fresh strawberries, some cornstarch, some sugar, and some water and melt it down into some goop! The more you mash the strawberries, the smoother the filling will be. The cornstarch is what turns it into a gel filling.
